Video of the Day: Nancy performs the Fugue from Bartók's Solo Violin Sonata

Gramophone Magazine features Nancy's music video for her upcoming debut album, STORIES (re)TRACED, which is released on June 6th. The video was filmed at the Caroline Hume Hall of the San Francisco Conservatory.

In Nancy's words: ‘This electrifying fugue is a grungy and pointillistic nod to J. S. Bach, bringing to life four voices that interact with each other in a kaleidoscope of motions and blistering sound effects. In just under four minutes, the composer confronts the performer with a challenge of tiptoeing between abrasive angularity and nimble grooving - so as to highlight various shades of colour imparted on this relentless tug-of-war and even battle of wits between these voices. Fearless compositional ambition abound!’
